Question : Arranging Furniture in a 16x16 Living room?
I'm having trouble arranging my furniture in a 16x16 Living Room to also have a small Dining Area. I have a Sofa, Loveseat, Coffee Table, 37" television, Drop Leaf Dining Set, and a Buffet/Sideboard. One wall contains a 6' window, and the back of the Living Room opens right up into the kitchen. Any suggestions on arrangements that could work? Answer:
Try this...Your west wall is open. The east wall has the window & door on it. So, on your north wall, place your sideboard at the west edge of the wall. Place 2 buffet lamps on it & a mirror over it. To the right of that will be your drop leaf table. Over the table place a pair of pictures side by side. Next to that you will corner your TV & Tv stand. On the window wall, place a small swivel barrel chair (check out Value City). On the south wall will be your sofa (place one large picture over your sofa or floating shelves) & end tables with lamps, then you will take your loveseat &"L" it with the sofa so that the loveseat creates a separation between the kitchen.

 
Question : How can I repair a small blemish in the finish of a table?
We have a brand new, Ashley Urbandale drop-leaf dining room table. This evening, we managed to get a few drops of Vectra 3D (topical flea treatment for dogs) on the surface. Apparently, the flea treatment is oil-based and the drops, once wiped up, left small depressions and "dullness" in the oil finish. What is the best way to repair these spots without having to strip/resurface the entire section of the table? (I did send an e-mail to Ashley Furniture requesting information on what kind of oil they use - tung, linseed, etc.)

Answer:
There is a product used to make minor repairs to furniture that involves crayon like sticks of various colors for touching up. Sold a home centers. May work.I would start with just putting on some oil first though although I doubt that the only finish you have is oil because it offers so little protection.
