Protect your hands from heat, spills and burns with non-flammable, stain and steam resistant silicone. Questions & Answers
Question : Where is the cheapest place or website to get those nylon loops to make potholders with?
My neice loves to make potholders, and i want to get her some loops for her bday. Thanx!

Answer:
Try JoAnn.com and see what they have. Then check out the store closest to you. Cheap is not done on line as you will have to pay for shipping.

Question : Would anyone like to buy some handmade potholders from me?
i have made a ton of potholders and i have not sold any of them!! they are all different designs and colors and they are handmade. if you would like them and want more details please give me your e-mail adress in your answer. thanks!

Answer:
Thanks but no - maybe you should try a craft show or e-bay. you might get a better response

Question : How do you make refrigerator magnets effective for holding the weight of potholders?
Smokey: This magnet is the size of a half-dollar, isn't that large? Would it help to sandpaper it? or is it just tired? Should I just pitch it?

Answer:
you can buy larger magnets at any major hardware store.

Question : What is the cheapest & best way to ship crocheted potholders, scarves and baby blankets?
I make custom-colored crocheted potholders, scarves, and baby blankets...what would be the most efficient and cost-effective way to go about shipping them out?

Answer:
You could probably get away with putting them in a padded envelope and shipping USPS regular mail. Also, if you go to the Post Office, all of the Priority boxs and envelopes are free. Since your stuff is probably pretty light, it would cost about $4.60 and get to the destination FAST.

Question : Where do I find good potholders?
I want to buy two potholders for my mom for Christmas. Her favorite color is dark/cobalt blue, and she is in desperate need of some new potholders. However, all the ones I'm finding on the internet are 9"x9", and that's way too big! Can anyone find any dark blue pot holders under 7"x7" or so? Thank you so much!

Answer:
Hi, There are a variety of blue pot holders here http://www.amazon.com/gp/search?ie=UTF8&keywords=blue%20pot%20holders&tag=recommended0b-20&index=gar den&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=9325 Hope this helps.

Question : When you make potholders with the heat insulated interfacing, which way do you apply it to your fabric.?
There is a shiny side and a normal side. I have lost my original instructions for this. Could someone please advise me? Thanks so much!

Answer:
shiny side toward the heat source.(but wool is a better insulator)

Question : How do I get the grease smell out of dishtowels and potholders?
Even after washing and drying, the towels and potholders have an "old grease" smell after using several times..any way to get rid of this, or should I toss them and buy new ones (which is what I usually wind up doing).

Answer:
If you pre-wash them using a de-greaser likd Greased Lightning, you'll be able to remove more of the grease and odors. I use Spray and Wash stain remover on all stains before laundering and my pot holders and such last quite a while. When they get raggedy, I replace them.

Question : Does anyome know where I can buy thick terry cloth to use to make potholders?
I've looked at all the area craft stores and the terry cloth is thin, like for a baby towel.

Answer:
I crochet them. I don't think they make bolts of really thick terry cloth anymore, but you could try a fabric store. Otherwise, you may have to buy a good bath towel.

Question : What useful items can be created by crochet besides potholders?
I want to learn to crochet, but I'm a minimalist. I only want to make things that are useful- like clothes or bags. Are there more things I can create?

Answer:
Afghans, baby blankets, scarves, purses, shawls, lapghans, sweaters, baby clothes, jackets, hats, booties, slippers, legwarmers, costumes, gloves, mittens, toys. If you google "crochet" and go to images, you will see the multitude of items there are. The best site out there for help, patterns, or just to chat iwht fellow crocheters is www.ravelry.comWhen you have a chance, google 'amigurumi' and look at the images. People are making toys and dolls out of crochet. There are no limits. There are also many video tutorials that will teach everything from basic to difficult stitches, to entire patterns for items. There are countless blogs and craft sites to help inspire you. I've been crocheting for about a year and a half and have made close to 100 items ranging from toys and baby mobiles, to blankets and sweaters. It is very fun, very relaxing, adn very creatively satisfying. Good luck, have fun.

Question : Could someone give me an easy pattern for potholders or scarves?
I live in a senior building and i am suppose to teach seniors hoqw to crochet. I need a easy pattern for a potholder or a scarf. single stitch is need. thanks in advance

Answer:
I've made this pattern many times and it's quick, easy and requires no increases when teaching this pattern. It's free from the net, so here's the link. It even has pictures to show what their work should look like as they progress. http://www.mielkesfarm.com/diagonal_hotpad.htmHappy teaching
