Editorial Review :
Coffee is 98 percent water. Often overlooked, the quality of the water is as important as the quality of the coffee. A good rule of thumb is that if your water doesn't taste good from the tap, it won't taste any better in your coffee. That's why Cuisinart suggests adding a water filter to the coffeemaker. The Cuisinart DCC-RWF charcoal water filter removes chlorine, calcium, bad tastes and odors, for the purest cup of coffee every time.

Editorial Review :
Chemex filters are 20-30% heavier than competitive brands. They remove even the finest sediment particles, as well as undesirable oils and fats. The formulation of the filter permits the proper infusion time by regulating the filtration rate - not too slow, not too fast. Good infusion of the coffee grounds gives coffee a richer flavor while at the same time making possible precise fractional extraction.

Questions & Answers
Question : What's better for the environment? A Keurig one-cup coffee maker or an old-fashioned Mr. Coffee machine?
Probably about 10 cups a day are drank in the office. While the Keurig only powers up for each cup, it does keep water heated within it for preparation. It also uses disposable K-cups for each use.The Mr. Coffee brews the 10 cups all at once, but would be left on for 8 hours straight. Disposed of would be one paper filter. (Or, perhaps for freshness, two brews would take place.)In any case, which is better for the environment?
Answer:
I like my Mr. Coffee. I've heard a lot of complaints about the Keurig, that they don't last long enough for the money they cost. If you are unfortunate enough to have it go out after the warranty is up, the only thing you can do is throw it out and that in itself fills up the landfills. Based on that alone, Mr. Coffee is better for the environment. I've had mine for about 10 yrs.

Question : I have no idea how to use this coffee maker!! Help!?
So the apt I moved in to has a coffee maker so I went to the store and got a bunch of disposable coffee filters and coffee. I put the coffee in the filter in the coffee maker and add the water but the water DRIPS ever so slowly. I'm talking about a drop a minute. So I think I havent added enough water, so I add more water. But then the coffee maker starts leaking water from where the filter holder is. So I take it out and call it quits and then notice that theres a small little valve like thing at the bottom of the filter holder where if I push up from the bottom, it lets the water through fast. But I have no idea how to keep it up!! Is the coffee holder missing a piece inside that holds that 'switch' up so the coffee can flow?
Answer:
No idea ! call Vodafone :))

Question : Are there any refillable filters that fit in the handpresso WILD espresso machine?
Wondering if there are refillable coffee filters for the handpresso WILD espresso machine. Considering buying one but not really interested if I cant use my own coffee. I have seen some web tutorials for how to make your own E.S.E. Filters, but it would be nice if there was a refillable (non-disposable) filter I could use. I've looked and there don't appear to be any specifically for this product but if anyone knows if others fit, I would appreciate it. Thank you!
Answer:
I don't there are any.....

Question : Coffee machines with permanent coffee filters?
Are coffee machines with permanent coffee filters good? I have a coffee machine that uses the disposable filters, and I'm considering buying one with a permanent filter. Are they good? Are they bad? What are the pros and cons about them?
Answer:
Coffee machines with permanent filters are good. Paper filters take flavor from the coffee and put in paper flavor but it depends on your palate whether or not you can taste it or if it even matters to you. They say the gold filter is the best filter to keep flavor. The only con to the permanent filters is that the good ones are around $20 to replace but they do last a long time. And you should be able to buy a gold filter for your existing coffee maker.

Question : Can you use disposable coffee filters in a coffee maker with a built in filter?
I got my mom a coffee maker for Christmas and I think it has a reusable filter for the coffee grounds. (Its wrapped and I don't want to unwrap it to check because I am almost out of wrapping paper.) I also got filters without paying attention, ha-ha. So, should I just not give her the filters or can she use them instead of the reusable filter? Thank you.
Answer:
I have a coffee maker with the permanent filter, and the instructions say that it can be used with just the mesh filter, or with a paper filter. The permanent filter is part of the basket that the ground coffee goes in, so you would use a paper filter in addition to, not instead of, the mesh filter. Either way, I'm very satisfied with the coffee mine makes.

Question : What is the white mesh material used on non-disposable plastic coffee filters called?
Nope.
Answer:
plastic screening

Question : How to make chai tea latte with "My K-Cup"?
My co-worker really wants to promote the use of a Keurig coffee maker in out office. The thought of all that necessary waste makes me cringe. She uses hers at home to make a chai tea latte every morning. I told her I'd support her if we use the "My K-Cup" reusable filters instead of the disposable ones. What could we put in it to recreate her beloved chai tea latte? Would the powder work??
Answer:
the powder might work

Question : What's the best way to clean off mold?
I forgot to dump out the coffee grinds in my coffee maker. A week later when I wanted some coffee I found the dried grounds and some furry mold. Is soapy hot water enough to clean the filter? (The filter is non-disposable...so I can't just throw it away.)
Answer:
Fill the sink with hot soapy water and add some bleach. Leave it overnight ..wash it in the morning and rinse well. Boiling it may melt the plastic. Vinegar or peroxide will kill mold also use it straight and soak it in a bowl overnight.
