Questions & Answers
Question : does anyone have the recipe for the spicy brown sauce used in Healthy Choice Fresh Steamers, General tso?
I love the sauce in the Healthy Choice Fresh Steamers General tso's Chicken and Vegetable bowl, does anyone know where to buy it or how to make it?
Answer:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Place chicken breasts, skin side down, in a 9 X 11 pan. Dice tomato, chop parsley, cut bacon into 1/2 inch squares and add on top of chicken. Chop up garlic and add to top of chicken. Cut lemon in half and squeeze lemon onto chicken. Sprinkle cheese over chicken, cover pan with foil, and bake 45 minutes. Uncover foil and bake another 12 minutes or until cheese is golden brown

Question : I hate ironing clothes do steamers for clothes work well?
I hate ironing clothes, especially Dress Shirts, and Slacks. So steamers for clothes work well or its more of a hassle then its worth?
Answer:
They only steam, they do not finish the shirt or pants. So if you want to look like your just hung your clothes in the bathroom while showering, go ahead. Noting works better than an iron and on a dress shirt and slacks, the difference is very noticeable.

Question : What is the recipe (or similar one) to mimic the Healthy Choice Cafe Steamers Chicken Margherita?
This microwave meal is delicious, but when I try to search for the recipe online I get the recipe that uses Ragu's Chicken Margherita sauce, which is more of a spaghetti sauce whereas the Cafe Steamers uses more of a balsamic vinaigrette sauce. I am dying to be able to make this delicious meal myself but could use a little help. Any suggestions to mimic the sauce in the Healthy Choice microwave meal is greatly appreciated. thanks.aspiring chef =)

Question : How Long Do You Keep Steamers?
I bought some steamers (clams) last night and ate a few but was going to finish the rest tomorrow. They have been in the refridgerator all day, and will be until I fix them. I was just wondering if anyone knew how long they could stay refridgerated and remain okay to eat.
Answer:
If you have kept them cold should be OK and if any have opened up a bit they may have died and may not be safe to eat. Tap the shell with the back of a spoon. If they close up as a result of responding to the tap they are alive if they don't they have probably died. Also, when you steam them and they don't open they may have died too. Now I have eaten them and been OK but be cautious.

Question : How to use Chinese bamboo steamers?
Just bought a set of Chinese bamboo steamers. I have no idea how long to steam shrimp or hu zhou rice dumpling. These are my first two things to try, but I will attempt many things so feel free to offer more suggestions if you have them. Thanks.
Answer:
I recommend that you line the bottom of the steamer with a cabbage leaf (aluminum foil works too). Don't cover the bottom completely, just under whatever you are steaming, so the steam can come through the reason for covering the bottom is that it makes cleanup much easier. Make sure that you have enough water in the pot and that the water is already boiling before you place the steamers on top. Do not place your dumplings too closely together (I normally leave about 2" between them) because if they touch, they tend to stick.I steam frozen dumplings for 10-12 minutes and no more than 5 minutes if they aren't frozen. If you are using uncooked shrimp, cook it until it changes color to white - the amount of time depends on the size of the shrimp.

Question : How well do garment steamers work on denim fabric?
Im tired of fussing and fighting with my irons and am thinking of purchasing a Sharper Image Garment Steamer and I wonder how well it works on denim? They always show you in the demonstrations how well it works on dresses and delicate fabrics but they never show how it works on denim.
Answer:
Denim is a dense fabric. A steamer is only going to get it wet. Wrinkles are not going to fall out or anything like that. All you get is damp fabric. You could have done as much with a cheap spray bottle or even by sprinkling water with your fingers for free. They never show you any such thing in the ads because it doesn't work.
