Question : wedding registry question?
i’m getting started on my registries for my upcoming wedding, and so far i think i’ve done pretty well. thing is, i’ve never done this before (haha), so i don’t know if i’m including too much, or too little. i’ve decided as my rule of thumb, i’ll have a few more gifts on the registry than i have guests, so that there’s enough to pick from. and of course, i’m trying to add in some cheap stuff (along with expensive kitchen stuff that i really want!!), just so there’s something for every price range. i’m pretty sure i’m not done yet, but i just wanted to ask a general opinion of people who may have done this before. Question : Proof-read it plz...it is due tomorrow afternoon..100 points for anyone?
The most momentous and meaningful ritual in my life is Thanksgiving with my family. The whole day is considered an enjoyment time with my families and there is no arguing that in my eyes. Nothing is more perfect than my whole family joining together for thanksgiving. As you know that it is eventful day celebration, show gratitude to God and mostly just each other’s company.show gratitude to God and mostly just each other’s company.. My mouth waters as the scent of melting dried turkey and apple pie across the room. The heat in the kitchen is ferocious, my mother is curved over the sink, scouring and scraping large stainless steel cookware which is only used for company. The delectable aroma of my Mom's famous mussels rises from the pot, which can only mean dinner is right around the corner. Subsequently, I place a yellow tablecloth on the table; the napkins on the napkin holder. The table is set for 10, we've having 4 guests. As I started set up the family table in the living room, the smell of Turkey fills the air as it cooks in the oven were wonderful. when put it in the middle of the table, next I got out the plates they too had fall colors, the napkins also had tiny fall leaves on them so they went along with the centerpiece, I got out my candles, the forks and the glasses and put them on the table, after I lit the candles I took a step back and the table looked as if it belonged in a magazine, I was so exhilarating.I started to smell the aroma of the turkey and I started feeling kind of panic because I knew that it wouldn't be too much longer and my family would be here soon. Afterward, I could feel the excitement and the anxiousness starting to swell up inside and since everything was going as planned I relaxed. Since the turkey and all sides were on it was now time to address the table, earlier that week, mother had purchased a beautiful centerpiece that the most vibrant fall colors with twigs, berries and all different colored leaves. After the turkey was done it was time to get the rest of the meal ready, cut up onions and celery, my eyes began to water because the onions were strong, the giblets were boiling on a pot that I started and the dressing was ready to be mixed together and put in the oven. When everyone arrived we all stood around the table with the turkey and sides spread out before us in a magnificent feast, and we each began to say something we grateful for when it was my turn I looked around at my family, and the meal and just simply stated that I was grateful for the opportunity to fix this meal for them and I was thankful for the food that the good Lord and given us and I was thankful that my first Thanksgiving dinner was success. My grandmother comes over to help my mother in the kitchen preparing turkey . When the turkey was ready, my mother takes it out and place it right there in the center of the table. Question : 100 point for proof- reading and fix errors?
he most momentous and meaningful celebration in my life is spending Thanksgiving with my family. The whole day is a peaceful time with my family and there is no arguing. Nothing is more perfect. We show gratitude for God's grace and each other’s company during this eventful celebration. My mouth watered as the scent of melting gravy and apple pie crossed the room. The heat in the kitchen was ferocious. My mother was hunched over the sink, scouring and scraping large stainless steel cookware which is only used for company. The delectable aroma of my Mom's famous mussels rose from the pot, which could only mean dinner was right around the corner. Subsequently, I placed a yellow tablecloth on the table and the napkins in the napkin holder. The table was set for 10 because we were having 4 guests. As I began setting the table in the living room, the smell of turkey filled the air as it cooked in the oven. It looks wonderful when put it in the middle of the table. Next I got out the fall colored plates. The napkins also had tiny fall leaves on them so they went along with the centerpiece that my mother bought. I got out the candles, the forks, and the glasses and put them on the table. After I lit the candles, I took a step back and the table looked as if it belonged in a magazine. It was exhilarating. The aroma of the turkey grew stronger and I started to panic. I knew that it wouldn't be too much longer until my family arrived. I could feel the excitement and the anxiety swell up inside of me. I began to relax because everything was going as planned. Since the turkey and all sides were on their way, it was then time to dress the table. Earlier that week, mother had purchased a beautiful centerpiece with the most vibrant fall colors: brown twigs, purple berries and all different colored leaves. After the turkey was done it was time to get the rest of the meal ready. We cut up onions and celery. My eyes began to water because the onions were so strong. The giblets were boiling on a pot that I started and the dressing was ready to be mixed together, and I put in the oven. My grandmother came over to help my mother prepare the turkey in the kitchen. When the turkey was ready, my mother took it out and placed it right in the center of the table along with the other dishes. The guest arrived. We all gathered around the table with the turkey and sides spread out before us in a magnificent feast, and we each began to say something we were grateful for. When it was my turn I looked around at my family, and the meal and just simply stated that I was grateful for the opportunity to fix this meal for them, for the food that the good Lord had given us, and I was thankful that my first Thanksgiving dinner was success. We ate green beans, mashed potatoes, a great gravy recipe, cranberries, my favorite stuffing recipe, sweet potato recipes, corn bread and, of course, pumpkin pie. I had never eaten turkey before. I was surprised that it tastes more like chicken compared to other meats, but it has a blander flavor. The celebration itself is something to look forward to every year and it is something I hope to carry on with my own family one day.

Answer:
The first paragraph can be cut. It becomes apparent in the rest of the text that its a big occasion - no need to mention it so explicitly. The rest of the paragraphs are so mixed up I can't understand what's happening! You mention setting the table and the centre piece, then include the description in the next paragraph. You need to have clear points in every paragraph; the first would be about the expectation, the excitement. The second about laying the table, the guests that are coming and the cooking. The third would be about the guests arriving, giving out drinks, putting the food on the table ect. You seem set on describing all the recipes and preparation of the food, but it isn't really necessary. Saying something like "My mother had been up since 4 in the morning, preparing the food. And now it was all nearly ready; the turkey in the oven smelled...."I'm not trying to be harsh; it's my honest opinion and this needs a lot of work, but it could be a very good piece of descriptive writing!

Question : Could you check my grammar mistakes and sentence structure please?
The most momentous and meaningful celebration in my life is spending Thanksgiving with my family. The celebration itself is something to look forward to every year and it is something I hope to carry on with my

Answer:
Spending cannot be the most ... celebration because it is not a one-off ...sorry I misunderstood but adding the word 'holiday' would clarify. Next paragraph moves from present into past tense. Napkins placed in napkin holderS. Otherwise your spelling and grammar both fine. It is customary, in prose, to write in full numbers from one to ten. With an extra place at the table your guest must be a very special person ... your future husband perhaps? Good luck. God bless. Gladgran.
