Questions & Answers
Question : Jewish dietary law - Do you have to replace the whole set?
I only partially understand the traditions and reasons for them so I have a question.Absolutely no disrespect meant. If you accidentally put a utensil (fork, knife, dish, tablecloth etc) in the wrong group, is there a way to correct it or do you have to discard and replace the item? What about the items the misplaced utensil touched - do they have to be replaced? ****One more question - refrigerator/freezer storage.Do you divide the food items to separate areas/shelves or can it all be stored together as long as it is wrapped/contained properly?Thank you.

Answer:
If you mistakenly placed a cold dairy utensil into a drawer containing cold meat utensils, nothing has happened and you may remove it. This applies even if the utensils touched. If they were dirty, you should wash them right away with soap. You usually do not have to discard the item, in certain circumstances the utensils would need a special cleaning called Kashering. There are exceptions. If the utensils were used within 24 hours and are dirty and one of them had a hot liquid on it, then both would need kashering. If you could email me with more details I could help further, it is just too complicated to explain all scenarios here. You do not need separate shelves in the fridge or freezer, pots and storage utensils can touch, as long as they are not dirty. You would only need to wrap something if needed to avoid, for example, getting tomato sauce from a meat dish onto a dairy pot. If that would happen, the pots might need to be Kashered.Feel free to email and I will explain more.

Question : My roomate has an attitude towards our houserules. Need opinion?
Ive been living in a 2 bedroom house for the past 5 years owned by my aunt. I pay her the houses mortgage and bills so natuarly the check is named after her.The house was fully renovated before i moved in and Me. my mother, dad and later uncle lived there in peace.Around the 3rd year of me living at the home, my housemate who is also another relative moved out because he was able to buy a home for him and his family ( my parents moved back to our hometown) and I naturally went ahead to find a roomate to rent the spare room.It was a tough find but I finally decided to settle with a young couple below 20 who just got married and with a baby on the way. Given the situation and lack of other renters to take the room I took them in.House rules are pretty lax, free range of the kitchen and living room and with an even decreased rent. Free cable and wifi, except for SDGE and the rent was lessened too. About $475 for all 3 of them. She even got a bed and TV from me when they first moved in.Things were sorta ok when they first moved in. But i did noticed even though she tells me that she was a neat freak that she was actually a hoarder. My small kitchen became a storage space of sorts. She is part of WIC so she natuarly stocks up on items, but to the point even my dinning table had items over it. The carpet, would always have dirty bits and i rarely saw her vaccuum. Again give the tough economy ( ressecion time) I tried not to rock the boat and let it slide. When she had the baby, she started using cloth diapers, but would wash them in the washer with some "fecal" mater still on and would get to my clothes when i do my batch of laundry. Other issues started to pop up:She would put knives on the dish rack blade upShe would borrow some of my pyrex ( ok with me) but will not clean them thoroughlyShe would clutter both the kitchen and the sink area to the point i cant cook. And I come home late at 7:30 PMThen there were the late night fights and her sobbing. When i did spoke to her about it, she gave me a catty attitude but did comply somehow on how to improve the laundry. I even started putting signs up the walls like you would see in your office break rooms ( keep the area clean, etc..) Her husband is nice, is actually cleaner at the house. Another issue I had was their fights, shoutfests and such. Then theres dishes 2 days worth of them at the sink. the hording became worse, it over flowed to the living room, and now the house smelled worse and worse. they rarely clean the kitchen or just anywhere. it became a habit of mine even though now i come home late to clean up after them or when i come back from work.My fault was not saying anything, becuase during those time, it was the recession and It was a tough market to find a decent renter.I didnt want to rock the boat, and in general Im not the finicky type of landlord.I went on a out of country vacation last December for 3 weeks and didnt announce my return date. 2 days before my flight back I am recieving a Facebook message from her that her husband got into a possible gang/thieve fight and my home can be a target of retailiation. When i came home, the house had a nearly moldy musk, clothes and shoes all over the floor. Less than a week later as of tonight she texted me that her husband contracted a highly contagious virus. Respiratory and pink eye of type. With my frustration boiling over for 2 years worth of mess of my home, I expressed my opinions over the phone, a first time I did in the months and weeks boiling over. This is what our kitchen by the way look like as of now.http://img819.imageshack.us/img819/7269/img1081rr.jpgThis is what our kitchen by the way look like as of now. When asked if she thinks this was neat and clean. She said YES. A friend of mine who was present and is a landlord of another house also pointed out howmany times i would come home and the house was in dis-array. She responded by saying the Living room and Kitchen is generally clean during the day but gets dirtier as the day winds down. She then started that I was playing mom to her and that I cant do that. Plus the house isnt my house and my aunt is not really my full blood aunt so i dont own the house. She proceeded in saying " Now is not the best time to comfront me." because she will respond back to me in negativity. She then babbled how long a day she had and i did not show any " care" or should have said " I hope your husbands ok" upon her texting me as I was leaving work her husband has a contagious virus in our home.Even giving me a 10 min run down WHY her day was so bad and it was a sob story.and That I have no right to Micromanage her because she "tries her best". Question : GTA 4 Boring? VC and SA better?
How many of you agree with me that GTA vice city and GTA san andreas are WAAAAAAAAAAAY funner then the krap that is GTA 4? GTA 4 is marketed as a sandbox style game but there is NOTHING to do. They made it realistic but forgot to make it fun. In vice city you have:More weapons: katana (sword), chainsaw, hammer, screwdriver, machete, knife, gatling gun, flame thrower.way more car storagehydraulic cartankHalloween mask and outfitcop outfitmini RCmini Coptermini Airplanebetter jumpsbeach + beach jumpsdirt bikebeach buggieproperty businesses taxi missionsparamedic missionspizza boy missionsmallsmansioncopter that lands on waterbetter music (WAY better)better missions (variety and fun instead of kill this guy or that guy)GTA 4 had:bowling (boring)pool (boring)darts (boring)Qubed (don't know how its spelled but its also boring)free aim with any gun free aim in carhanguns and grenades from carI can't even begin to list how many more features were in SA but the list is atleast 5 times longer than the one for VC. The new cover system in 4 blows. If your behind something its too easy to kill everyone, just toss a grenade at them. If your not behind something you can't last 2 seconds. The healthbar is ridiculously low. When buying clothes you have to go up to each item, like really its just a game. The clothes are bland too, armani suits? The game takes itself to seriously. The story line blows, the characters are boring and annoying, the plot is confusing and random. "Hey niko this guy screwed me a long time ago, go kill him". People say they couldn't fit anything else on the disk because of the graphics but I don't buy that. The graphics are subpar compared to what the 360 can handle plus many of the lacking features don't take too much space. Anyone feel the same?

Answer:
Agreed, aside from nice graphics I started to hate GTA IV. I don't think I ever finished it. It was kinda depressing to play, honestly. And also they can fit more onto a disk, they just take time to figure out how to maximize on it.

Question : Here's my post-apocalyptic plan--what do you think & what's yours?
PRE-PREPARE-Increase my running/endurance ability (gotta run from those cannibals and zombies!)-Increase strength (I'm sure I'll be carrying supplies, and you never know when you'll need to be able to carry someone or move something)-Increase biking ability (biking might be my ticket out of where I'm at when the shit hits the fan or my sorce of transportation after)-Increase swimming endurance (ya never know, plus any physical endurance is good!)-Decrease food consumption (obviously not to post-apocalyptic levels, but I overeat terribly now, so I need to decrease to a regular amount and then we'll go from there)-Learn basic first aid/CPR/etc -Read up on my area's plants and other natural recources-Plan escape route just in case my house isn't a good safe haven-Plan on where I'd go and how I'd get there -Read survival guides-Learn how to start fires-Plant fruit trees and gardens (just in case it's an apocolypse in which I can stay in my home and pick those fruits and veggies to eat to save my non perishable food items even if it's for a few days or weeks)-Make sure to live in a home with a wood burning stove---If it's something that causes ash in the air, that means it's going to be cold as hell, and this makes keeping warm a bit more managable because you have a fire contained in your stove.-Also make sure to live in an area with woods and trees (spend the summers chopping wood for the horrible winter-Learn basic "boy scout" skills.-Learn how to use and shoot a gun-Learn how to defend yourself with a knife-Learn hand to hand combat (people aren't friendly.)-Rock climbing endurance (great for physical fitness, but also you never know what you're going to have to climbPRE-STORAGE-20 crate things of bottled water (if I happen to be living with other people, this number goes up) *Switch out after 5+ years. Chemicals will leak, but most likely boiling shall fix this-A large plethora of canned goods and non perishable foods-First aid kit-Basic tool items-Basic sewing supplies-Other basic needs such as those doctor masks (to not breathe in dead body smell, chemicals, etc), rope, and any other things-Knife, gun, crow bar, other stuff-Vitamins out of the wazoooo (you can survive a long time with just water and vitamins)-Anti-biotics (a lot of them, the last thing you want to do is die from a sickness after surviving the apocalypse!-Pain meds*None of this stuff I have, I'm 16. This stuff is what I plan to do while I am an adult living on my own or with a family (assuming zombies don't take over before hand ^^)**Also, the reason I'm doing this, is because it's a hobby of mine, reading and thinking about the opst apocalypse***I also mention zombies a bunch of times in here, I'm semi-kidding in this. I think that sun phenomenons, things crashing to earth, nuclear war, or virus pandemic/epidemics are much more likely....I just like to have fun with the zombie theme!Nope Tommy, I don't. If you even managed to read the thing, you'd know that.I completely agree with the whole vitamin thing. I said something I didn't mean to. I meant to word in a way of "you're less in the shit if you're giving your body some minerals than if you're not" and if that's not true, then well, those vitamins will sure help along with the food. Sorry haha =)Next, I laugh at the whole concern of being obsessed with it. I do spend a lot of time thinking about it. MY BAD. I DIDN'T KNOW I WASN'T ALLOWED TO HAVE MY OWN HOBBIES! It's a weird hobby, but whatever. I'm definatly not the only one, I know a ton of people who enjoy contemplating this.Next, how do you know I havn't talked to my parents about my depression. Well. I have. Yeah, thanks for that. /sarcasm.

Answer:
It is never a bad idea to learn how to become more self-sufficient, but try not to obsess about future catastophes to the point where you don't enjoy your life. No one knows how much time they have on this earth whether the end comes from natural causes, an accident or some catastophic event, so make sure you enjoy each day.I would also suggest learning how to dehydrate food, can food, build a solar oven, a solar shower, solar battery charger and put together a kit of basic hand tools and and know to use them. Also consider buying a water filter.

Question : What knife should I get?
I'm stuck in a bad situation... I found the Ka-Bar Potbelly 7.5" blade , it's 1/4" thick, comes with a smaller knife, and a sheath with a pocket for storage of items, and is American made. The steel is 1095 "Krovan". It's around $80. I then came across the Condor Hudson Bay. It's 3/16" thick, 8.5" blade and made in El Salvador and comes with a leather sheath. The steel is 1075 high carbon. Please help!!!I use my knives for chopping, making shelter, doing other survival tasks

Answer:
You didn't say what you are doing with it but here is the best big @$$ knife deal going:http://www.walmart.com/ip/SOG-Jungle-Primitive-and-Tomahawk-Bundle/14013106Or just the knife (its 420 Stainless, pretty standard balance between sharp and corrosion resistance in outdoor situations):http://www.walmart.com/ip/SOG-Jungle-Primitive-and-Tomahawk-Bundle/14013106You can't do better than SOG, but you can do worse.

Question : Creating my craft room..? must haves?
I'm starting my craft room for scrap booking.I still need to buy some tools (for scrap booking ex:ink, knife pen), storage, and stock up on supplies. What are some must have tools I need? Please send links to good items to use as storage THAT IS CHEAPAnd how can I stock up very cheap? Thanks.

Answer:
I don't know what you call cheap, but the website I mentioned below might be of use to you.
